With five minutes remaining in the third quarter of Monday night's game against the Pacers, the Heat looked up at the scoreboard and found themselves down 18 points.
A few years ago, they would have had the benefit of having LeBron James to help attempt a comeback.

James wasn’t there to bail them out on Monday, of course, but the remaining members of Miami’s once-potent “Big Three” were there and came up big in a 103-100 overtime victory.
Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade showed they can still carry a team without James. Bosh scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Wade added 27 points, including a buzzer-beating layup that sent the game into overtime.

The victory put the Heat (21-13) in third place in the Eastern Conference behind the Bulls and James’ Cavaliers. They also did it without the help of emerging big man Hassan Whiteside, who was kept out by a knee injury.
Miami proved Monday that while it may not be back to the championship-contending level it reached with James, it still has enough talent to hurt some feelings in the postseason.
Tweet of the Night
So Riley wasn't the first cute Curry kid.
Before he was the NBA's MVP, Stephen Curry was co-star for this Burger King commercial with his dad, Dell. The younger Curry came up big against his father's team Monday night, scoring 30 points on 12-for-21 shooting in the Warriors' 111-101 win over the Hornets.

Studs of the Night
James Harden scored 30 points in the Rockets' 93-91 win over the Jazz. It was his 14th game of at least 30 points this year, tying him with Stephen Curry.
The Nets came out on the wrong side of a 103-94 score against the Celtics, but Thaddeus Young did what he could to keep his team in the game with 23 points and 15 rebounds.
Another blowout win for the Spurs and another super-efficient performance by Kawhi Leonard. Leonard scored 24 points on 9-for-12 shooting, including 3 of 5 from behind the 3-point line, as San Antonio rolled 123-98 over the Bucks.
Duds of the Night
Russell Westbrook's stat line of 17 points and 15 assists looked solid on the surface, but it was far from a stellar performance. Westbrook hit just 6 of 23 field-goal attempts and turned the ball over seven times in the Thunder's 116-104 loss to the Kings.
Looking ahead
Knicks (16-19) at Hawks (21-14), 7 p.m. ET: These two teams met Sunday, with the Knicks winning 111-97 behind 38 points from Arron Afflalo. The Hawks will be looking to get back on track having lost two of their last three games.
