Draymond Green punches Jordan Poole: Leaked video of Warriors fight released after incident downplayed by Stephen Curry, GM Bob Myers image

The Warriors are dealing with a situation entering the 2022-23 season.

Earlier this week, news broke that Draymond Green got into an altercation with teammate Jordan Poole in practice. The Athletic reported at the time that Green "forcefully struck" Poole and had to be "separated swiftly."

The two are said to "regularly get into verbal arguments," but the team believed a line had been crossed.

On Friday, TMZ shared a video of the altercation.

Here's everything we know about the evolving situation.

Will the Warriors suspend Draymond Green?

Warriors general manager Bob Myers addressed the media the day before TMZ released the video.

Myers said that the team is still in the process of disciplining the four-time All-Star but that he does not expect him to miss any games.

"Look, it's the NBA," said Myers. "It's professional sports. These things happen. Nobody likes it, we don't condone it, but it happened. Draymond apologized to the team this morning. Jordan was there in the room. I was there in the room, the team, the coaches, players, and we heard that.

"As far as any suspension, punishment, fine, we're going to handle that internally."

Jordan Poole contract status

The Warriors signed Poole to a four-year, $10.1 million contract after selecting him with the No. 28 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He's currently eligible to sign an extension.

Here is a breakdown of Poole's current contract:

Year Salary
2019-20 $1.96 million
2020-21 $2.06 million
2021-22 $2.16 million
2022-23 $3.90 million
2023-24 $5.81 million*

* Qualifying offer; would be restricted free agent

Draymond Green contract status

Green signed a four-year, $100 million extension with the Warriors ahead of the 2019-20 season. He has a $27.6 million player option in his contract for the 2023-24 season, making him a potential unrestricted free agent after the 2022-23 season.

Like Poole, Green is eligible to sign an extension. The Athletic's Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson II reported in July that Green "wants and believes" he deserves a maximum extension.

Here is a breakdown of Green's current contract:

Year Salary
2020-21 $22.2 million
2021-22 $24.0 million
2022-23 $25.8 million
2023-24 $27.6 million*

How Stephen Curry, Warriors responded after incident

Stephen Curry

"The specific tweet that was put out yesterday insinuating that JP's attitude or something has changed since he's been in this training camp or even whatever timeline they're talking about. It's absolute B.S. Andre [Iguodala] addressed it yesterday with his tweet, and we can kind of leave it at that. JP's been great. There's nothing that warranted the situation yesterday, to make that clear. But it's also something that we feel like will not derail our season and what we're trying to build, and that's with Draymond as a part of that."

Steve Kerr

"As a coach, anytime there is something that happens, we try to handle things internally. It's very difficult to keep everything in house obviously, but Bob handled your questions, so I'm not going to answer anything more because Bob already answered what needed to be answered.

"The only thing I will say is that Jordan has been fantastic throughout camp. There was a report that I was made aware of last night that someone put out there that Jordan had an attitude at camp. Nothing could be further from the truth, he's been fantastic. Disappointing to see misinformation out there, but I wanted to make sure I set the record straight on that.

"Everything else we will handle internally and we'll go from there."
