The NBA on Thursday fined Clippers coach Doc Rivers $15,000 for blowing up at an official, the league announced.
Rivers was fined for "verbal abuse" and "not leaving the court in a timely manner" during the Clippers' 127-122 double-overtime loss to the Nets on Tuesday.

Rivers was arguing a foul call in the first overtime period with official Lauren Holtkamp when another official, Ken Mauer, issued a technical foul on the coach. That's when the rage set in. Rivers was given a second technical and ejected.
The first tech was for crossing midcourt, something Rivers initially said shouldn't have been called.

"I thought it was an awful tech," Rivers said after the game. "The official who had nothing to do with the play (Mauer) thought I was yelling at Lauren, and I wasn't. Actually, she said, 'Doc, you're right,' or whatever, 'Let's walk back.' We were walking. We weren't even arguing. So it was the damnedest tech to give at that time."
Rivers has not yet been fined for criticizing the officials.
