Dirk Nowitzki planted himself firmly between two of the best big men in NBA history Wednesday night.
The Mavericks forward needed 10 points against the Nets to surpass Shaquille O'Neal (28,596 points) for sixth on the all-time NBA's scoring list. He passed the legendary big man on a midrange jumper over Andrea Bargnani, with 9:51 to play in the second quarter.

Look out, Wilt ... he's coming for ya! 😂😂 #DALatBKN https://t.co/2iwGMiJ5D2

Nowitzki finished with 22 points in the Mavs' 119-118 win over the Nets.
He now trails Wilt Chamberlain (31,419) for fifth on the list. Not bad for a guy who was booed on draft night back in 1999.
