Derrick Rose played 32 minutes, scored 18 points, shot 22 times, had five assists and did so with basically one eye In the Bulls' season opener Tuesday against the Cavs.

"When I'm out there playing, I'm only using one of my eyes," Rose said after the game, via ESPN. "I close my left eye whenever I'm out there. So I just got used to it from practice."

When his eye is open, it's not very useful. Rose said he's dealing with blurred vision as a result of his fractured left orbital bone. His left eye is visibly swollen, and it's causing problems.

"I wish it was a blink, but it's all the time," he said about the blurred vision. "Like right now, I see two of you."

Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg doesn't have any reservations playing Rose, either. Hoiberg gave Rose advice the fictional character Rocky Balboa received from Paulie in Rocky IV.

"I think he sees three baskets right now," Hoiberg said. "I told him, 'Aim for the middle one.'"

Hoiberg says Rose's depth perception is probably still a little off, but he has confidence in him to improve. The Bulls were able to defeat the Cavs, 97-95, and their next game is against the Nets on Wednesday.
