Derrick Rose says season opener 'looks like it's a go' image

Every year it seems, there is a question as to whether or not Derrick Rose will start the season on the court.

The answer this year appears to be "Yes."

The Bulls point guard said playing in the season opener against Cleveland on Tuesday “looks like it’s a go” following his debut in the preseason finale on Friday night.

"I felt good," Rose said via ESPN. "I just wanted to come out and get a feel for the offense. I love the way that coach designed everything. The way the offense is run, they've got me running downhill every time I catch the ball."

Rose scored eight points in just over 10 minutes as the Bulls beat the Mavs 103-102 to wrap up the preseason. The former MVP missed the rest of the preseason after fracturing his right orbital bone at the start of training camp last month.

Friday’s game also marked the first time Rose got to play for new head coach Fred Hoiberg.

"It was great to see him back in uniform," Hoiberg said. "Our pace was as good as it's been all preseason when Derrick got in there and in turn the other guys were out there running with him. He got to the rim, hit a nice little pullup out there. It was a very good first effort for Derrick."
