Derek Fisher has been fired by the Knicks, the team announced Monday.
The coach led the Knicks to a 23-31 record, which is fourth-worst in the Eastern Conference. He had coached 136 games with the Knicks over two seasons.

New York has been struggling lately, losing its last five games and going 1-9 in the last 10. Fisher took some of the blame for the team's rough starts after Sunday's loss against the Nuggets.
“I’ll take some responsibility for it -— whatever is or isn’t happening — so that we’re ready to play right at the tipoff,” he told ESPN after the team's loss to Denver.
The former NBA player took over as head coach of the Knicks in 2014 and went 17-65 in his first season. He has a 40-96 combined record in his time with New York.
Kobe said Fisher getting fired in NY was "the nature of the beast. I’m sure he’ll pop up somewhere as a head coach." They haven't spoken yet
