The Kings didn't take DeMarcus Cousins' antics toward a Sacramento Bee writer lightly.
The organization hit Cousins with a "substantial fine" after he berated columnist Andy Furillo last week for writing about his younger brother's bar fight.

According to ESPN.com, the fine amount wasn't mentioned and Cousins won't be suspended for any amount of time.
"The Kings have a clear set of standards of conduct expected of our entire organization," the organization said in a statement. "As a result of negative interactions with certain members of the media that were not corrected after verbal warnings, we have decided to impose a substantial fine. If this behavior is repeated again we will be forced to consider further discipline."

Cousins' gripe stemmed from Furillo's column about a nightclub incident involving Cousins and teammate Matt Barnes. Furillo wrote about that and included a reference to a previous club altercation, in which Cousins and his brother, NBA Development League player Jaleel Cousins, were involved. But DeMarcus Cousins took offense to the mention of his brother in the story.
