The Pelicans were without starting forward Dante Cunningham on Friday against the Suns after the NBA suspended him for a DUI citation in Washington state in the offseason.
Cunningham, who played for the Trail Blazers for three seasons, was pulled over in Clark County, Wash., near Portland, Ore., for going 67 mph in a 40 mph zone on June 17. He failed a field sobriety test and his blood-alcohol content was measured at .094, over the state's legal limit of .08, according to The Columbian.

Cunningham, 29, pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge but later accepted a lesser charge of operating a motor vehicle in a negligent manner while exhibiting the effects of having consumed alcohol.
The Villanova product is averaging 5.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game this season. He started New Orleans' previous two games at power forward.
Cunningham was arrested in 2014 for alleged domestic abuse and making terroristic threats, though both charges were dropped.
