Cleveland Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton is expected to miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season after undergoing surgery to repair a left meniscus tear, the team announced.
His absence is a huge blow for the team, who had gotten off to a strong start by nine of their first 14 games which included a five-game Western Conference road trip.

Appearing in the first 11 games of the season, the 22-year-old was averaging 16.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 28.7 minutes of action.

As per the team announcement, Sexton suffered the injury during the Cavaliers game against the Knicks at the Madison Square Garden on Nov. 7.
The team's release further states that with surgery considered the best course of action, the 6-foot-1 guard underwent the surgery to repair the torn meniscus in his right knee on Wed., Nov. 17.

The exact timetable for Sexton's return remains unknown, however, the team has termed it a 'season-ending' knee injury which makes it quite clear.
