Marreese Speights knows what it takes to be a championship-caliber team. He won a title with the Warriors in 2015 and played a role in their record-breaking 73-9 season before blowing a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

Now he's with the Clippers, who jumped out to a 14-2 start but have now lost five of their last seven. So how does Los Angeles get back to its winning ways?

"First, we need to start really just leaving the refs alone,” Speights said (via the Orange County Register). “Guys just got to sacrifice, do some other things than scoring, do some other things than your personal goals. Just try something new.

“They’ve been doing it here for four or five years and it hasn’t been working, so it’s time to try something new.”

Those are pretty critical comments coming from a player who has been with the team for only 23 games. Per NBA.com, Speights is also shooting the ball 80 percent of the time he touches it. By comparison, Blake Griffin is shooting only 56 percent of the time.

It'd be something else if Chris Paul, a team leader, said that. But since it's coming from the new guy with some questionable stats, we're not so sure his teammates will appreciate the criticism.
