Doc Rivers didn't rip on Donald Trump like the Warriors' Steve Kerr and Pistons' Stan Van Gundy, rather the Clippers coach took a more open-minded approach about the controversial president-elect.
"The election didn't go the way I wanted it to go," Rivers told reporters after the Clippers' win over the Trial Blazers on Wednesday night. "I personally know Donald Trump. I've golfed with him and I know him. I don't think there's anyone who runs for president that wants to do bad. I really don't. So, you know, he won.

"My take on it: Let's give him a chance and see what he can do. That's the only way anyway now. So, let's go with that."
Rivers added "there was nothing wrong" with large groups of people protesting Trump's victory outside of Staples Center and across America on Wednesday night, but urged those people to use the power of voting.
"Trump is going to be fine as president," Rivers said before the game. "That's something I never thought I would have to say. Honestly. At the end of the day, he will be because I just believe America, overall, works. There's a Congress, a Senate, and it's going to work out.

"But, if you don't like it, you have two years from now to change it — not the president — but you can change the Congress," Rivers said. "You can change the Senate. If you don't like it, change it."
While Rivers remained coolheaded about Tuesday night's political outcome, Kerr and Van Gundy didn't mince their words. Kerr compared Trump's win to the "Jerry Springer Show," while Van Gundy called Trump "brazenly racist and misogynistic."
