The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are set to face each other in the NBA Finals for the second consecutive season. The series will feature many stars such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Kevin Love and Draymond Green.
Some players are seeking their first NBA title while others are looking to recapture the glory. As for the teams they play for, these players will look to create history for their franchises. The Cavs have never won the NBA Finals, and it would mean so much to the city of Cleveland if they did.

Cavaliers
2006-07 vs. San Antonio Spurs: The Spurs defeated the Cavs 4-0 in a series sweep with Tony Parker winning Finals MVP. This was James' first appearance in the Finals, and his team was outmatched by the more experienced Spurs roster.
2014-15 vs. Golden State Warriors: The Warriors defeated the Cavs, 4-2, with Andre Iguodala winning Finals MVP. James was without the team's two big-name stars (Love, Irving) and nearly averaged a triple-double in the series.

Warriors
Championship appearances before NBA was formed: 1946-47 (4-2), 1947-48 (2-4).
1955-56 vs. Fort Wayne Pistons: The Philadelphia Warriors defeated the Pistons, 4-1, with no one winning Finals MVP because it wasn't invented yet.
1963-64 vs. Boston Celtics: The San Francisco Warriors fell to the Celtics, 4-1. Wilt Chamberlain played well for the Warriors, but couldn't get it done.

1966-67 vs. Philadelphia 76ers: Still in San Francisco, the Warriors fell to the 76ers 4-2, facing a familiar opponent. Chamberlain helped Philly defeat his former team as he averaged 28.5 rebounds per game in the series.
1974-75 vs. Washington Bullets: Now the Golden State Warriors, the franchise swept the Bullets, 4-0. Rick Barry won Finals MVP.
2014-15 vs Cleveland Cavaliers: We already know how this series turned out, and it was a long wait for Warriors fans to relive the thrill of winning an NBA championship.
