Heat officials are being cautious with star forward Chris Bosh as he deals with a potentially serious injury problem.
The All-Star will not travel with the Heat when they play at Atlanta on Friday, the team announced Wednesday. It was the first official comment from the Heat regarding Bosh since reports earlier in the week said he may be dealing with a recurrence of the blood-clot issue that prematurely ended his season last year.

"Chris Bosh will not practice today and will not accompany the team to Atlanta for the game on Friday," the Heat's statement read. "When further information is available that we can pass along, it will be provided."
Bosh missed the NBA All-Star Game and the 3-point contest last weekend due to what the Heat said was a calf strain. The team is exercising caution because it was a calf injury in December 2014 that led to him being diagnosed with blood clots in his lung two months later.
Bosh missed the last 30 games of the 2014-15 season after being hospitalized for the clots, which traveled to his lung and caused an infection that resulted in fluid backing up into his lungs.
"It's not a health scare like it was last year at all," Heat guard Dwyane Wade said after Wednesday's practice, via ESPN.com. "None of us are overdoing it from that standpoint. So he's fine. I'm not going to speculate anything. None of us are doctors. He's in great spirits. He has a positive outlook on things. He's showing us he's in good spirits."
