Charles Barkley said Thursday that he is awaiting the results of a coronavirus test while under self-quarantine in Atlanta.

CORONAVIRUS: Gobert apologizes for 'careless' behavior

He was away from the studio on Thursday.

The coronavirus, or COVID-19, has affected all parts of the world, with New York being a "hotspot," in Barkley's words. It has brought sports in the U.S. and other countries to an almost complete halt. The NBA has suspended its season for at least 30 days after Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for the virus Wednesday. Gobert's teammate Donovan Mitchell tested positive Thursday.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver told TNT's Ernie Johnson that it's "possible" the remainder of the season could be canceled, but added, "I just don't know more at this point."

The NCAA, MLB, the NHL, MLS and the XFL followed the NBA's lead Thursday and suspended play or canceled events, most notably the NCAA Tournament.
