The Celtics came into Dallas with a matchup against the NBA's hottest team and came away with a commanding victory.
One game after losing to the Thunder by 33 points without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Boston has gotten back on track with a win to snap the Mavericks' seven-game win streak.
The Celtics used a team effort in this contest, as six different players scored double figures. Superstar forward Jayson Tatum led the way with his second-career triple-double, going for 29 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Boston did a great job containing the lethal Luka Doncic, holding him to 23 points and a season-low three assists.

9:52 p.m.: The Celtics controlled this contest the entire way, cruising to a 29-point victory over the Mavericks. Jayson Tatum led the way with his second-career triple-double, going for 29 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.
Boston's depth stepped up in this one, with five different players joining Tatum in double figures. Its ball movement was impressive, dishing out 29 assists on 41 made field goals.
As for the Mavericks, Luka Doncic was held to just 23 points, nine rebounds and a season-low three assists. With the game's outcome decided, Doncic did not play in the fourth quarter.
Dallas got a late spark from rookie second-round pick Jaden Hardy, who finished with 15 points. Spencer Dinwiddie pitched in 18 points but the Mavericks didn't have the firepower to keep up with the Celtics.

9:39 p.m.: Jaden Hardy is looking like the spark the Mavericks needed all night, rattling off 15 points on six shots in nine minutes. He ignited a 19-6 run for Dallas, but Jayson Tatum answered with an and-one to keep the lead at a comfortable distance. The Celtics lead 108-88 with four minutes to go.

9:32 p.m.: The Mavericks are getting a little life from rookie second-round pick Jaden Hardy, who has spent the majority of his first NBA season in the G League. Hardy has scored seven quick points in seven minutes, but Dallas still trails Boston 97-75 with under eight minutes left in the game.

9:22 p.m.: The Celtics wavered for a moment in the third quarter but quickly snapped back into shape. Boston has controlled the entire game, taking a 24-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Jayson Tatum is on triple-double watch with 16 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. He's had plenty of help tonight, as Malcolm Brogdon (14 points), Marcus Smart (12), Jaylen Brown (10) and Grant Williams (10) have all joined him in double figures.
Luka Doncic is trying to carry the Mavericks with 23 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Aside from Spencer Dinwiddie's 18 points and Christian Wood's 12 points and 12 rebounds, there hasn't been much help for Dallas' star playmaker.

9:11 p.m.: The Mavericks made a little run to cut the deficit to 14 but Boston had an answer right away. The Celtics have the lead back to 21, up 81-59 with 3:05 left in the third. Boston's ball movement has been synergetic, dishing out 20 assists on 26 made field goals.
Christian Wood has had a strong start to the second half for Dallas, up to 12 points and 12 rebounds to give Luka Doncic and Spencer Dinwiddie a little bit of help.
9:00 p.m.: The Celtics are starting to pull away, leading 71-50 with 7:44 to play in the third. Jayson Tatum is heating up on the offensive end with 15 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. The Mavericks could be in trouble as Luka Doncic navigates foul trouble after picking up his fourth foul early in the third.

Boston has 17 assists on 22 made field goals, while the Mavericks have just four assists.
Malcolm Brogdon (11 points) and Grant Williams (10 points) have provided a scoring boost off the bench on a night when their team needs it most. Jayson Tatum has done a little bit of everything with 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists, but Jaylen Brown has been limited to just four points in nine minutes due to foul trouble.
Spencer Dinwiddie has helped Doncic with 13 points, but no other Mavericks player is in double figures.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown only have four points apiece, but the Celtics' bench and role players have stepped up in a big way.
