The NBA's biggest rivalry will be renewed Thursday when the Lakers meet the Celtics in Boston.
Los Angeles is searching for consistency as it moves forward on its annual Grammy road trip. The Lakers defeated the Warriors in a double-overtime thriller Saturday, but they dropped their next two games against the Rockets and Hawks, leaving LeBron James extremely frustrated.
"We could, on any given night, beat any team in the NBA. And then, on any given night, we could get our ass kicked by any team in the NBA," James said on Tuesday. "What's our record? 24-25? That's where we are."
If they're going to bounce back Thursday, they'll have to do it without James. He and Anthony Davis are both slated to miss the game due to injury.
Boston, meanwhile, has been rolling through the competition. The Celtics, who have won eight of their last 10 games, own the best record in the NBA (37-11). They most recently beat the Pacers behind a 30-point effort from All-Star starter Jayson Tatum.
