Dallas is in sixth place in the Western Conference, and is thought to be looking for another big man. Lee averaged 7.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30 games for the Celtics this season.
“We thank David for his contributions to our organization and wish him nothing but the best in the future,” Celtics President Danny Ainge said in a team statement.
