Avery Bradley had a nice surprise for a grieving family on Sunday.

Mike and Kristi Harshman of Brooksville, Fla., lost their son Jaret in a car crash in December just a few weeks before his 16th birthday. The accident occurred when Jaret was on his way to Bible study at his father’s church.

Upon hearing the news and learning that Jaret was a big fan of his, the Celtics point guard surprised the family with a letter and signed jersey, in addition to a pair of tickets to Sunday's game.

"I felt bad for the family," Bradley said, via the Boston Herald. "It was sad to hear about a kid heading to Bible study got in a car accident. When I saw the picture it just made me feel that I wanted to do whatever I could to put a smile on the family’s faces."

The Harshmans, who live just over an hour away from Orlando, were overwhelmed with gratitude by the gesture.

"It was totally unexpected," Mike said. "He didn’t have to do that, and when the package came in the mail, I didn’t know what it was. When I read the letter and saw the jersey he signed, you’re just blown away that someone would go that far. He didn’t have to do anything like that, and we wouldn’t have known the difference. It was a special thing."
