Stephen Curry's record-setting night powers Warriors past Cavs in Game 2 image

Stephen Curry scored 33 points and hit an NBA Finals record nine 3-pointers in Game 2, leading the Warriors to a 122-103 victory over the Cavs on Sunday night at Oracle Arena.

Curry made five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter alone, giving Golden State an insurmountable advantage and putting Cleveland in a 2-0 hole. Kevin Durant (26 points, 10-of-14 shooting from the field) and Klay Thompson (20 points, 8-of-13 shooting) had efficient offensive nights, and the Warriors shot 57.3 percent as a team.

LeBron James just missed out on a triple-double with 29 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds in 44 minutes, but he looked drained for much of the game, understandable given how often he has been Cleveland's primary source of offense. Kevin Love contributed 22 points and 10 rebounds, and George Hill added 15 points and three assists.

10:35 p.m. ET — Well, that's a first. Stephen Curry sets the NBA Finals record for 3-pointers in a single game with nine deep balls. He finishes with 33 points, eight assists and seven rebounds as the Warriors cruise to a 2-0 series lead.

10:25 p.m. ET — Stephen Curry is coming for the Finals MVP. This is just ridiculous.

It's pretty much done here. Warriors 111, Cavs 93 with five minutes left.

10:18 p.m. ET — It's been that kind of night for the Cavs. Kevin Love sticks with Stephen Curry, but Draymond Green is right there to tip it back in.

10:11 p.m. ET — Stephen Curry is cooking. Two more 3-pointers to start the fourth quarter give him 23 points on the night. 

End of third quarter: Warriors 90, Cavs 80

10:02 p.m. ET — The Cavs keep getting close, but the Warriors find an answer every time Cleveland makes a mini-run. Kevin Durant is scoring (22 points, 8-of-11 from the field) and making plays (seven assists) on the offensive end. He even dropped a dime to noted 3-point specialist... David West?

9:48 p.m. ET — Klay Thompson can just be mean sometimes.

9:41 p.m. ET — JaVale McGee is very tall and very good at dunking the basketball.

9:34 p.m. ET —  Kevin Love drains a couple 3-pointers to kick off the second half. The Cavs need him to play like an All-Star if they want to make a comeback.

Halftime: Warriors 59, Cavs 46

9:16 p.m. ET — Golden State's defense holds Cleveland to 16 points in the second quarter, and the Warriors take a 13-point lead into the locker room. Stephen Curry (16 points), Kevin Durant (13 points) and Klay Thompson (10 points) each had their scoring moments in the first half, but don't forget the bench. David West (plus-7) and Shaun Livingston (plus-8) made an impact in limited minutes. LeBron James is approaching a triple-double with 15 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, but he looks exhausted. The Warriors are making him work for everything, and aside from George Hill (12 points, 4-of-8 shooting), the Cavs' role players just haven't produced.

9:06 p.m. ET —  Keep an eye on foul trouble for the Warriors moving forward. Klay Thompson has three personals, and Kevin Durant, JaVale McGee, David West and Jordan Bell each have two.

8:58 p.m. ET —  Shaun Livingston is giving the Warriors solid minutes off the bench. He's go eight points in nine minutes and hasn't missed any of his four field goal attempts. It's all classic Livingston with shots coming from midrange and in the paint.

8:49 p.m. ET — Kevin Durant looks much more comfortable offensively. He is a perfect 5-of-5 from the field for 11 points. He's taking shots in rhythm and not hunting for isolation plays.

End of first quarter: Warriors 32, Cavs 28

8:40 p.m. ET —  Golden State grabs an early advantage behind seven points, five assists and three rebounds from Stephen Curry. The Warriors are shooting 68.2 percent from the field, but the Cavs are right there. LeBron James already has 10 points, five assists and four rebounds, and five different Cleveland players have scored to help him out. 

8:29 p.m. ET — The Cavs with a nice response to cut the deficit down to four. LeBron James is trying to spin around every single defender at least once this game.

8:20 p.m. ET — Well, that was fast. The Warriors jump out to a 15-6 lead, and the Cavs need a timeout. Golden State is already 7-of-7 from the field. Cleveland must stop this run.

8:12 p.m. ET — JaVale McGee with back-to-back dunks to start Game 2. A good call by Steve Kerr?

7:58 p.m. ET — And here come the Cavs. Tipoff is only a few minutes away...

7:43 p.m. ET —  A small tweak to the Warriors' starting lineup for Game 2. JaVale McGee replaces Kevon Looney at center.
