LeBron James just signed a three-year, $100 million contract with the Cavaliers, but that doesn't mean he isn't looking beyond that.
Even though James won't be able to play basketball forever, he wants to be apart of the game in a very big way.
"I would love to continue to give my knowledge to the game. I would love to be a part of a franchise — if not at the top. ... My dream is to actually own a team. I don't need to [be] fully hands-on. If I'm fortunate enough to own a team, then I'll going to hire the best GM and president that I can," James said on the "Open Run" podcast (via ESPN.)

"But I feel like I got a good eye for not only talent, because we all see a lot of talent, but the things that make the talent. The chemistry, what type of guy he is, his work ethic, his passion, the basketball IQ side of things. Because talent only goes so far."
James will likely be able to afford a team, too. He has already earned $270 million in his playing career thus far and has a lifetime contract with Nike worth $1 billion. That's not including his other endorsements.
Considering Steve Balmer bought the Clippers for $2 billion in 2014, James appears to have the financial wherewithal.
The Hornets' Michael Jordan is the only current principal owner who used to play in the NBA.
