Carmelo Anthony says Knicks owner James Dolan told him to apologize image

Carmelo Anthony told a heckling fan to ask for a refund. It turns out, the Knicks owners didn't like that sentiment.

So that apology Anthony issued? ''It was Mr. Dolan's decision,'' Anthony said Thursday, via The Associated Press.

The apology stemmed from the Knicks home game against the Trail Blazers, when a fan was heckling Anthony from the stands. Anthony told the fan he should ask Dolan, seated nearby, for a refund.

''We sat down and we talked about it," Anthony said of the collaborative apology from the Knicks. "Everybody thought it would be a good idea to send out an apology.''
