The dunk attempt took place late in the first quarter. Anthony was denied by the rim despite his path being clear because of a whistle.
The night ended with Anthony getting into a shouting match with a suited fan sitting near the team's bench, according to the New York Daily News . The fan was later escorted out of the building.
“He kept calling my name, calling name, saying, ‘You guys suck, you guys suck,’” Anthony told reporters. “At that point I was trying to gather myself and I turned around, all I did was point at (Knicks owner James) Dolan and told (the fan), ‘Look, the owner’s right there. Ask for your money back.’
“He’s calling me and telling me he’s never coming to another game and we suck. Just don’t want to hear that. I pointed to the owner and told him, 'You deal with that with him, maybe you can get your money back.'”
Anthony finished with 23 points on 10-of-20 shooting.
