Like it or not — and there are questions based on his recent play — Bronny James will be a name that's constantly involved in 2024 NBA Draft speculation, right up until he either pulls out or hears his name called.

Rarely do players averaging 5.2 points in 17.8 minutes per game manage to make headlines, or becomes the center of draft-related props on major sportsbooks like FanDuel. And yet, that's what happens when you're the son of LeBron James.

LBJ has done his part to hype up Bronny, having already mentioned his long-standing goal of playing alongside his son in the NBA one day. That statement alone boosts Bronny's draft-day value immeasurably, to the point that FanDuel has only one set of odds listed for the 2024 NBA Draft: "Which team will select Bronny James?"

Yes, the Lakers are predictably ahead in betting markets. But beyond LeBron's current team, who else would be bold enough to take Bronny with the prospect of also landing the NBA's all-time leading scorer? Let's break the latest odds and discuss what they mean moving forward.

Most likely Bronny James NBA Draft projection: Los Angeles Lakers (+600)

For Rob Pelinka, Jeanie Buss, and the city of Los Angeles, securing the draft rights of Bron's oldest son would almost certainly guarantee that King James stays in Hollywood for the remainder of his playing career.

So — naturally — that's why the Lakers will likely always top this list regardless of where they draft.

Securing LeBron indefinitely would justify drafting Bronny, whose upside as an NBA prospect seems otherwise limited (he's currently in a three-game shooting slump, during which he's 0-of-14 from the floor). The Lakers have the advantage of already having Bron on their roster, so Pelinka, Buss, and head coach Darvin Ham are free to discuss such matters ahead of the draft on June 27. Since James is currently under contract with L.A., other teams would be prohibited from discussing future arrangements due to the NBA's tampering policies.

Of course, there exists a distinct possibility that another team could still swoop in and draft Bronny with the ultimate goal of also obtaining LeBron's services — a potential move that FanDuel doesn't seem to be putting past a few familiar franchises.

Best value bets to draft Bronny James: Heat, Cavaliers, Knicks (all +1100)

If the Lakers don't end up with Bronny — and for that matter, LeBron — it seems entirely possible that one of these franchises serves as the reason why. Of course, LeBron has history in both Miami and Cleveland, having started his career with the Cavaliers, won multiple championships with the Heat, then returned to his hometown Cavs to bring Cleveland its first title.

A return to South Beach — or a return home to Ohio — would both surprise nobody, especially considering both Miami and Cleveland are well-tailored for immediate success (even if they draft a player in the first round who likely won't immediately contribute much).

The Knicks have never rostered LeBron, and famed former Knick Charles Oakley has claimed LeBron once told him he's "never going to New York" because of controversial owner James Dolan. However, we can't possibly rule out the biggest basketball city in America, especially considering Bron has made it abundantly clear he loves playing at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

It's also worth noting that Bron's agent Rich Paul has a long-standing relationship with Knicks president Leon Rose. Paul, who founded Klutch Sports in 2012, previously worked for Rose at Creative Artists Agency. And while King James has no home in Manhattan, we could see him changing that if Dolan, Rose, and company drafted his son and courted the four-time Finals MVP well enough. Helping the Knicks win their first chip in 50 years seems like a good way to finish up an already incredible legacy.

Best long shot to draft Bronny James: San Antonio Spurs (+2400)

We would never put more than five bucks on any long shot in this already niche market — but if we were to choose any dark-horse candidate, it would be the Spurs. Legendary NBA coach Gregg Popovich has long admired LeBron, citing him countless times as one of the hardest working and most special players in NBA history.

The respect has been mutual, as Bron has gone on record saying Pop is the greatest NBA coach of all time. Just imagine if LeBron, Victor Wembanyama, and Bronny united with Pop and company in San Antonio, one of the youngest and most promising franchises in the league. It would be pretty dang cool for hoops fans, and even cooler for us if we won $120 on a $5 lotto ticket.
