Bronny is the first member of the James family looking to follow in their father's footsteps.

In 2003, the Cavaliers selected LeBron James with the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft. 20 years later, Bronny is taking the next step in his basketball journey after finishing up his senior season at Sierra Canyon.

Bronny is still a year removed from being NBA Draft eligible, but there is already talk about him being a potential lottery pick on the strength of his defensive ability and the improvements he's made as both a shooter and playmaker.

How does Bronny compare to LeBron at the same age? Let's take a closer look.

What is Bronny James' height and wingspan?

Bronny is a guard who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds on ESPN. That gives him a similar build as CJ McCollum, Kendrick Nunn and Collin Sexton in the NBA.

Bronny has no official wingspan measurement.

How Bronny compares to LeBron as NBA Draft prospect

LeBron James measured 6-foot-7 (without shoes) and 245 pounds with a 7-foot wingspan as an 18-year-old ahead of the 2003 NBA Draft. He is now listed as being 6-foot-9 and 250 pounds.

It's clear Bronny is several inches shorter than LeBron when you see them side-by-side.

LeBron was, of course, the crown jewel of the 2003 NBA Draft class — a no-brainer selection with the No. 1 pick, even with him coming directly out of high school. While Bronny isn't considered to be the same caliber of prospect, ESPN's Jonathan Givony has him as a top-10 pick after an impressive senior season at Sierra Canyon.

It's still unknown where Bronny will spend the upcoming season. If he decides to go the college route, he's reportedly considering Ohio State, USC or Oregon.

How good is Bronny James? Full prospect scouting report

Here's what TSN's draft expert Kyle Irving wrote about Bronny heading into his senior season at Sierra Canyon:

The best way to describe Bronny's role on his Sierra Canyon team prior to his senior year: He was a perennial starter and elite perimeter defender but played a reserved offensive role as a shooter and secondary scorer and playmaker.

As a 6-3 18-year-old, James already has good size and when you consider LeBron is 6-8, it's probably safe to assume he'll grow even more by the time he enters the draft process. He doesn't have the wingspan his father does, but Bronny already uses his quick feet and strength to his advantage on the defensive end, shutting off opposing drives with ease.

ESPN now has Bronny ranked as the 28th-ranked prospect in the 2023 high school class.
