The Washington Wizards have suffered a scare just days out from opening night of the regular season.
Star guard, Bradley Beal exited the Wizards preseason matchup against the New York Knicks with a knee contusion in the first half, before failing to return to the court after the break.
Beal played just 9:09 minutes in the preseason finale, scoring five points and adding two assists.

Head coach Wes Unseld Jr. was unsure of the severity of the injury postgame, but remained hopeful it wasn't serious.
“I don’t believe it’s anything substantial, but we’ll wait to see,” said Unseld Jr.
Washington do have five days off before their season opener against the Toronto Raptors, giving Beal some time to recover before tip-off.

The Wizards finished the preseason 0-4, with a Julius Randle game winner lifting the Knicks to the 115-113 win at Madison Square Garden.
In the absence of Beal, Raul Neto top scored with 25 points, while Spencer Dinwiddie added 17 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Beal picked up his third All-Star selection in 2020-21, averaging a career-high 31.3 points per game as the Wizards returned to postseason play.
