Expected to be out of action well into March after suffering a broken hand during an altercation with a team equipment manager, Blake Griffin will also be subject to discipline from the league and team on top of that time missed. One league partner however has already enacted a form of punishment on the Los Angeles Clippers star forward.

In the latest roster update for the "NBA 2K16," Griffin has been dropped 20 points in the "Hands" attribute, going all the way from a 97 down to 77. He's also been removed from the rosters that are used for online play for as long as he's on the shelf, but that is typical of any injured player.

It's rare but not unprecedented for game developers to drop ratings of players based on things that are not necessarily related to their actual athletic skill level. In 2010, NBA 2K dropped Tony Parker's loyalty rating from 87 to 0 after news came out of alleged infidelity.

The other significant news out of the update is that the gap has widened at the top of the player ratings between Stephen Curry and LeBron James. Curry has moved up to 96 Overall putting him two points out in front. James had been the highest rated player in the NBA 2K series since 2010, with this year being the first time since then that any other player had tied or surpassed him.
