The Pelicans' long list of injuries grew Tuesday, and it now includes the team's best player.
Anthony Davis suffered a bruised right hip in the first half of a 120-105 win over the Mavericks and didn't return to the game. X-rays were negative, according to ESPN, but Davis will undergo further tests Wednesday to determine the severity of the injury.

"I just know he had some problems," Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said after the game. "I don't know if it's a groin or a hamstring. We'll have to wait and see. Nothing surprises us here."
Another banged-up player probably doesn't suprise Gentry because Davis joins Norris Cole, Tyreke Evans, Kendrick Perkins and Quincy Pondexter on the team's injury report. Omer Asik and Jrue Holiday, two projected starters, have played a combined seven games this season.
Davis scored 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds in the first half as New Orleans cruised to its first win of the 2015-16 campaign.
