Anthony Davis was able to break out of his early season slump Friday night. His team … not so much.
Davis tied his career-high of 43 points but it wasn’t enough to keep the Pelicans from losing to the Hawks 121-115, dropping their fifth straight game to start the season.

The All-Star forward came in to the game shooting below 40 percent on the season but hit 14 of 23 field goal attempts and 14 of 16 free throw attempts in the loss. He also grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out three assists, recorded four steals and blocked three shots in the loss.
