Anthony Bennett, one of the more disappointing No. 1 overall picks in NBA history, will reportedly attempt to resurrect his career in his hometown.
The Minnesota Timberwolves waived Bennett earlier in the week. After clearing waivers and becoming a free agent, he’s expected to sign with the Toronto Raptors, according to ESPN.

Bennett, 22, was drafted first overall by the Cavaliers in 2013 and traded to the Timberwolves a year later in a deal that netted the Cavs Kevin Love.
The former UNLV star has struggled to find a place in the pro game. Bennett has averaged 4.7 points in 14.3 minutes per game over two seasons.
Bennett, a Toronto native, was a key contributor to the Canadian national team in the Pan American Games this summer, averaging 15.6 points and 10.4 rebounds per game en route to a silver medal.
