Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey showed up to his press conference earlier this week with a physique much bigger than social media expected.
This led to Sixers fans flooding their feeds with pictures of Maxey, calling out the change in appearance. It seems the NBA took notice of the public's opinion, as the 23-year-old revealed he was drug tested late Friday night.
"I really got drug tested because of y’all [laughing emojis]," Maxey wrote.

If anything, Maxey should take this surprise test as a compliment to his work ethic this offseason. His speed is one of the most praised aspects of his game, so adding muscle to his frame will help him drive to the basket with ease. He shot a respectable 50.1% on 2-point shots last season.
He is gearing up to take another leap in the upcoming year, likely as a playmaker. His impressive scoring jump landed him the Most Improved Player award, but the addition of star Paul George should shift his priorities.
After averaging a commendable 6.2 assists last season, it’s possible the number shoots to around 8. He recorded a career-high 25.6 points per game, a stat that could see a slight decrease due to the offensive additions. The 76ers' front office added scoring threats, including George, Caleb Martin, Jared McCain, and Eric Gordon.
