There's something of a rivalry brewing between the Raptors and 76ers, who will meet in the opening round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs.

The series gets underway on Saturday, April 16 when the fourth-seeded 76ers host the fifth-seeded Raptors.

2022 marks the third time that the two franchises have gone head-to-head in the postseason and the first time since 2019, which many might remember as an instant classic.

This time around, things will look a bit different. For starters, the series starts in Philly, where the Raptors posted a 2-0 record during the 2021-22 regular season.

Game 1 is an opportunity for each team to make a statement.

While the Raptors look to steal home court advantage, the Sixers will look to provide a reminder that with Joel Embiid and James Harden, their title aspirations in 2022 are very real.

Toronto will lean on the championship DNA of its star duo of Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet, while OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr. step into their largest playoff roles to date.

Rookie Scottie Barnes has an opportunity to turn in a playoff debut to remember, as the 20-year-old has rarely looked like a rookie this season.

Here is all you need to know ahead of Game 1.
