It’s been a long time coming, but the 76ers finally found their way into the win column.

The Sixers beat the Lakers 103-91 on Tuesday for their first win of the season in 19 attempts as Kobe Bryant played what will be his final game in his native Philadelphia. Philly had not won an NBA regular-season game in eight calendar months.

The win not only ended the team's NBA-record 28-game losing streak, it also kept it from setting a record for losses to start a season. The Sixers instead are tied with the 2009-10 Nets at 0-18.

It was another tough game for Bryant, who shot 7 for 26 from the field and finished with 20 points.

Robert Covington led all scorers with 23 points for Philadelphia.

The next question (a two-parter) is: When will Philly win again, and can it beat any other team besides the 2-15 Lakers?
