Heat, Knicks fans bicker over injuries of Jimmy Butler, Jalen Brunson image

The Miami Heat and New York Knicks did not face off in this year’s NBA playoffs, but it hasn’t stopped the two fan bases from arguing.

The latest topic of debate comes after Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson was ruled questionable to return due to a “sore right foot” in Game 2 of New York's series against the Indiana Pacers. Brunson has since returned to the court, but this led to Heat fans taunting Knicks fans on social media, pointing to the fact that Jimmy Butler played multiple quarters on a serious MCL injury.

Knicks supporters did not respond kindly to the jokes, with one reply reading, “Anddddd jimmy butler is in Cancun while jalen Brunson is averaging 40 points in the 2nd round.”

While Butler was eliminated from the playoffs, a fair shot was never given. He was sidelined for the entire series against the Boston Celtics due to the MCL injury that occurred during the Play-In Tournament.

Meanwhile, Brunson is proving his worth as one of the league’s top guards this postseason, averaging 36.6 points and 8.6 assists on 44.3% shooting from the field thus far.

Even Butler chimed in on the rivalry last week.

“If I was playing, Boston would be at home, New York damn sure would be at home," he said in a viral video.

Knicks fans and Heat fans will always find something to bicker about, regardless of whether they're facing off in the postseason.
