The New York Knicks are going to get another look at a somewhat-forgotten draft pick.
According to Stefan Bondy of The New York Post, Lithuanian guard Rokas Jokubaitis is set to join the Knicks for Las Vegas Summer League, which begins for the Knicks on Saturday.
Jokubaitis was the Knicks' 34th overall pick in the 2021 draft, selected two picks before guard Miles McBride.
Jokubaitis played three games with the Knicks Summer League team in 2021, totaling 29 minutes, but has since played professionally in Barcelona. He hasn't been with the Knicks since.
Jokubaitis also plays for the Lithuanian national team, which recently lost in Olympic qualifiers, clearing the way for the 23-year-old guard to join the Knicks in Las Vegas.
It's unclear if the Summer League stint will lead to Jokubaitis joining the Knicks' roster for the 2024-25 season. According to Bondy, Jokubaitis has one year left on his contract with Barcelona. Bondy reports that Barca coach Joan Peñarroya was non-commital when asked by reporters about coach Jokubaitis' future with the team, calling it a "long summer."
In Liga ACB play last year, Jokubaitis averaged 7.4 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 17 minutes per game while shooting 56.6% from the field and 48.6% from three (on 1.2 attempts per game). His shooting numbers fell to 45.7% and 31% from three in 31 EuroLeague games that season.
