The Minnesota Timberwolves found themselves with home-court advantage in the Western Conference Finals, but surrendered it quickly with a 108-105 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. It was a somewhat historic loss as they were just the fourth team in the last four years to have 10 turnovers and make 12 more three-pointers than their opponent.
Thursday had some media availability and Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch didn't mince words, stating that it was a rough film session.
"Yeah, it was a rough film session. I told the guys, ‘It’s been a long time since I’ve been this disappointed in your effort. Your performance, your attitude, your application and attention to detail just wasn’t there.’ The Western Conference finals started. Not sure if they got the memo. But they got it this afternoon.”
The last line talking about how the Western Conference Finals has started tells you everything you need to know about how the mentality going into game two is going to be. Expect a fired-up team running around and playing like the best defensive team in the NBA.
