Will Bronny James make Los Angeles Lakers' roster in 2024? image

The acquisition that everyone anticipated finally occurred as the Los Angeles Lakers selected former USC guard and son of LeBron James, Bronny, at No. 55 in the NBA Draft.

Now, the question is raised as to whether he will make the team's roster for the 2024-25 season. The answer is quite simple: yes, to some extent, on either a standard or two-way contract.

James' agent, Rich Paul, has made it clear his client has no interest in signing anything less than a guaranteed deal, meaning the Lakers are likely anticipating a secured spot for him. That doesn't mean the former USC guard can't spend much of his rookie campaign developing in the G League with the South Bay Lakers. His averages with the Trojans were mediocre at best, meaning allowing time for progression away from the spotlight is crucial.

While James is arguably not worthy of a roster spot at this time, especially on a guaranteed contract, it's expected the Lakers will do everything in their power to keep his superstar father happy.
