The Los Angeles Lakers are placing their faith in retired sharpshooter JJ Redick to bring them championship banner No. 18 despite no prior experience.
His lack of exposure in the field is one of the biggest concerns around the hiring, as fans are envisioning a similar turnout to Steve Nash's with the Brooklyn Nets. The Carton Show put Redick's experience on blast Sunday through a graphic clowning his massive jump in the business. The graphic showed "Brooklyn Baseball Academy Volunteer 4th Grade Boys Head Coach 2023-24" to "Los Angeles Lakers Head Coach 2024-25."

Some came to Redick's defense in the comments, calling him a genius in the field. While the former NBA analyst's route is infrequent and perhaps a bit unfair to others who've worked their way up, there's no denying his strong basketball IQ. Redick's 'Mind the Game' podcast with Lakers star LeBron James has shown time and time again his ability to break down and analyze sets. Doing so is much easier in a studio with cameras and lights than in a crunch-time playoff game, but Redick is hoping to defy the odds.
