Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell agreed with fans on X who were saying when he gets hot he is as great a shooter as Steph Curry.
This tweet is now deleted, but it was still said by him. Russell is a career 37% from three, and last season he was 42%. As for Curry, who is considered the greatest shooter of all time and has the most threes made in NBA history, is a career 43% from deep, and last season was 40%.
So while Russell may have been a better shooter in the regular season last season, he isn’t close at all for career. Playoffs are another thing as well. The past two playoffs Russell has been a horrible shooter. In his playoff career, he has only shot 32%. As for Curry, he has done so much better, being 40% from three.
So, in the case of Russell being as great a shooter as Steph when they are both hot, that may be true. However, his constant lows in the playoffs and overall lower shooting percentage don’t give him the right to claim what he did.
