Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James is off to a disappointing start in his NBA career, especially when considering the spotlight on him.
The NBA Summer League is meant as a time for young players to develop, not to judge their futures, but it's not stopping all from doing so. Basketball coach of Division 1 UW Green Bay, Doug Gottlieb, recently gave his two-sense on James starting for his team.
"He would compete to start, but while I like how he moves the ball and defends, he wouldn’t be my point," Gottlieb wrote. "And my wings are bigger and without seeing him w/us, I think it would be hard for him to start TBH."

While there's no denying James' mediocre display as a freshman with the USC Trojans, it's a bit of an overreaction to say an NBA talent would not start at a mid-major. In his three Summer League outings, the 6-foot-2 guard has recorded 15 points on 6 of 26 shooting from the field. Alternatively, James has gotten himself involved in all aspects of the game, most notably on the defensive end.
