Bronny James declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, a decision met with heavy amounts of criticism from fans and media alike.
As the son of all-time great and Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, the spotlight has been on him for years. A mediocre freshman season at USC where he averaged 4.8 points on 36.6% shooting led most to believe an additional collegiate season was in Bronny's best interest, but the 19-year-old disagrees.
At the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, James opened up about the pressure that comes with being the son of the Lakers superstar.
"It's tough. A lot of criticism gets thrown my way, but you know I got to deal with it," James told SiriusXM NBA Radio. "They don't know what I've been through, but I just try to make the best of the opportunities that's given to me."

The Lakers are among the teams expected to show interest in him, as the organization interviewed him at the combine. Other front offices may be tempted to select Bronny to lure his father to their team. LeBron has a player option worth $51,415,938, so he can opt out and become an unrestricted free agent.
"I always want to end up where I'm happy the most," Bronny said. "My mom always told me, 'Take me where my heart wants me to be,' and I just found happiness in what I'm doing right now, and I feel like that's where I want myself to be."
