Indiana Pacers All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton made a joke on X today after he won the gold medal for basketball with Team USA.

The tweet read, “When you do nothing on the group project but still get an A,” meaning he did nothing to contribute to Team USA winning gold, but still got one himself. To be honest, this is a fair assessment.

In the six games throughout the Olympics, Haliburton did not play in half of them. In the other half, Haliburton played 26 total minutes, and scored eight points in those minutes.

Haliburton is far from a bad player, though, and his low playing time in the Olympics should not give fans preconceptions about his game. This past season in the NBA, Haliburton averaged 20 points, 11 assists, four rebounds, and a steal. He also led his team to the Eastern Conference Finals, where he faced the Boston Celtics.

Fans applauded his sense of humor, and thought his sense of humor was great. They wished him a great next season, and hoped he was on the 2028 Olympic squad with hopefully a bigger role.
