ESPN analyst claims Rockets made trade to swing for Kevin Durant image

Chaos broke loose on Tuesday evening with the news that the Houston Rockets were aiming to pry superstar Kevin Durant away from the Phoenix Suns.

While ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski shared in a later report that the Suns are still looking to compete with their Big Three, the dust is not yet settled. NBA analyst Brian Windhorst shared an update on a potential trade between the Rockets and Suns.

"[Houston Rockets] made this trade specifically to attempt to make a deal with the Suns. They did it to make a deal with the Suns now," Windhorst said on ESPN Radio. "To my knowledge, Kevin Durant has not asked for a trade. However, there are definite connections between Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets."

It all comes down to who Durant places more faith in: the Suns with the star backcourt of Devin Booker and Bradley Beal or the Rockets' youthful core highlighted by Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun. If the veteran forward opts for the latter, Houston's front office has all the necessary assets to acquire him at a moment's notice.
