Is Klay Thompson reason for Steph Curry's frustrations with Warriors? image

Klay Thompson left the Golden State Warriors, and they did very little to replace him. Stephen Curry is not going anywhere, but the question has at least been raised whether or not the franchise player is happy in his current situation.

The way Thompson was treated regarding the contract offers he received from Golden State could have been an eye-opening experience for Curry. Thompson helped the team win four championships, and reports are that the Warriors played games when it came to paying Thompson.

It is hard for Curry to imagine life without his splash brother during an NBA season, but he has to move on. The Warriors organization has to hope they did not ruffle too many feathers this offseason because if Curry wants out, their championship window slams shut.

"Not having Klay still hasn't really sunk in just because you have been doing it for 13 years together," said Curry. "I kinda have this idea that in October he'll still be like, hey guys, what up? But I know it's not happening."

The all-time leading three-point shooter has been in the news ever since a series of social media moves following the Olympics. While nothing is concrete, and Curry might be perfectly happy, the franchise has to be a little nervous, nonetheless.

"We would have loved to have maintained the core and finished out together, but we obviously understand the league, and things change. Having Klay head on to Dallas is tough. It is something that I never imagined would be a reality," said Curry.

All would have likely been forgiven if the Warriors had managed to acquire Paul George this offseason, but now there is some uncertainty about the team's future and direction.

"It does suck losing Klay. There is no two ways about it," said Curry.
