Steve Kerr opened up on the Dan Le Batard Show about when Draymond Green made him the angriest during his time as head coach of the Golden State Warriors. Kerr did not need much time to come to a conclusion.
"For sure, the Jordan Poole incident. Draymond and I are a lot alike in many ways. People probably wouldn't see that from the outside, but we are both kind of maniacal competitors, and we have lost our minds with each other during games over whatever," said Kerr.
A video surfaced in 2022 of Green punching Poole during a training camp practice, which caused Green to apologize and step away from the team for a little bit of time.
"He crossed the line with Jordan, and he knows it. He knew it immediately and it made that season incredibly difficult for everybody. That story has been regurgitated many times, but that is probably the time I was most angry."
Green is the enforcer and motivational captain of the Warriors. Because he is such a fierce competitor, he lets his emotions get the best of him from time to time. Kerr undoubtedly loves having Green on his team, but coming off a championship season, friction in the locker room is the last thing a coach wants to deal with.
Poole is now with the Washington Wizards after the former Golden State shooting guard's relationship with Green never was the same. Poole's departure has hurt the Warriors' roster, and the team has not looked the same since the incident.
