After the Cleveland Cavaliers were eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA playoffs, Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor reported that Donovan Mitchell had some issues with his teammates.

Fedor's report included that Mitchell "grew frustrated with some teammates' lack of maturity, focus, playoff-level readiness, and a willingness to listen" during the 2023-24 season.

Mitchell himself caught wind of Fedor's report and took to his X account to personally call it out as a lie. Mitchell wrote the following response.

This doesn't necessarily dispel the notion that Mitchell's time in Cleveland could be over in a few months, but it adds more credence to the notion that despite his uncertain future with the Cavaliers, Mitchell has not been a problem for them.

With Mitchell onboard, the Cavaliers won their first playoff series since LeBron James' second departure from the team in 2018. Despite being heavily undermanned against the Celtics, Mitchell and the Cavaliers gave them all they could handle in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The Cavaliers have some questions about where they're going long-term that first starts with Mitchell. He may very well be on a new team a few months from now, or he may very well be sticking around for the long haul. In whatever case, the same turbulence that plagued Mitchell's time with the Utah Jazz appears to have not resurfaced in Cleveland.
