The Brooklyn Nets seemed to be headed for a full restart after moving star Mikal Bridges, but one piece of their core is sticking around.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news on Wednesday evening that the Nets are retaining center Nic Claxton, writing, "Nic Claxton intends to a sign a four-year, $100M to return to the Brooklyn Nets, sources tell ESPN. Claxton's $100 million deal has been worked on by his agents Rich Beda, Steven Heumann and Aaron Mintz of @CAA_Basketball with the Nets front office, and now he'll return to anchor what'll be a young Brooklyn roster, sources tell ESPN."

Claxton held down the paint on both ends of the floor last season for the Nets, averaging 11.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks on 62.9% shooting. At 25 years old, he is still able to develop with the core Brooklyn creates in the coming years. However, the same may not be said for wings Cameron Johnson and Dorian Finney-Smith, who could see a change of scenery in the near future.
