Former NBA All-Star Jeff Teague went on his podcast yesterday and said the Boston Celtics will be back-to-back champions this season.

"If you’re a Boston Celtics fan, y’all should be thanking USA basketball. Because now y’all get another championship on the way... It's time to crash out.”

What Teague is referring to is the ‘disrespect’ shown to Celtics superstars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown by Team USA.

For Tatum, it was because he was one of the best NBA players last year, and was the only first team All-NBA player on the team. He was benched multiple times, and rarely saw the court. He was also the second-best player on the 2020 Tokyo squad for the Olympics behind a prime Kevin Durant.

For Brown, it was because he was left off the roster. For an NBA champion, Finals MVP, and Eastern Conference Finals MVP to be left off Team USA is ludicrous. Most think it was due to his beef with Nike, who are the sponsors of Team USA, and decide the coaching staff, who decides the players.

In all fairness, Jeff Teague is probably right. The Celtics duo will use this as fuel towards their fire, in trying to win it all once again, and maybe go for the regular season MVP award while they’re at it.
