Boston Celtics superstar forward Jayson Tatum has been selected as the favorite to win the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award, per Bovada.Tatum was second-place for the award last year to his teammate, Jaylen Brown.
There was an argument for Tatum to win Finals MVP last year, due to the fact he averaged 22 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in the Finals. Tatum also lead his team in points, rebounds, and assists in the 2024 playoffs. The reason he didn’t win Finals MVP was his poor shooting, since he shot 26% from three, where he took a majority of his shots.
Tatum will definitely try to do better this year, as his controversy on Team USA should fuel him to play the best he can, both in the regular season and playoffs. Tatum was not the only one affected by Team USA, as Brown was also snubbed from the roster, and wants to show how wrong they were by not taking him.
With this in mind, the sports-betting world sees the Celtics as easy locks to be in the Finals in back-to-back years, and Tatum will get the coveted award critics mocked him for not getting the previous year.
