The Atlanta Hawks first blockbuster move of the offseason occurred on Friday evening, as they are trading Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Athletic's Shams Charania broke down the trade, writing, "Pelicans are moving Larry Nance Jr. and two first-round picks to the Hawks for Dejounte Murray, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium." Charania reported shortly after that, "New Orleans is sending Dyson Daniels to Atlanta as well, sources said."

Murray will anchor down the Pelicans' backcourt alongside former No. 1 pick Zion Williamson, while star Trae Young could remain in Atlanta alongside Zaccharie Risacher. It was heavily speculated that at least one of the two guards would see a change of scenery, and it seems Murray's market was more realistic for opposing GMs.
The Hawks are continuing to build a young core filled with promise as the Pelicans push for a win-now move in hopes of competing, whether it's with or without forward Brandon Ingram.
